flintlock musket and pistols are not proofed by the country of
manufacture nor is there a U.S. standard for muzzle loaders to proof by.

The early English Dragoon Pistols carried with them the basic features of the Long Land Pattern musket. The rounded side plate with tail, thumb escheon, trigger guard, heavy brass butt cap with long side straps, and plain rammer pipes with raised edges. There were no sights on the rounded barrel.
